Are you a remote Amateur Radio Operator?
Are you a remote Amateur Radio Operator or maybe you just like getting away from all the noise, or you operate POTA, SOTA, Bunkers on the Air, Worked AllĀ Britain aka WAB, or one of the ever-growing Amateur Radio Schemes to participate in the outdoors.
If so, this great little App will interest you. It’s simple and easy to use and brings information to your fingertips.
It’s called Grid.Radio
Put the URL into your Web Browser on your PC / Laptop or Smartphone and you will get information on your Time Zone, the Current Time and Time in UTC. Your Maidenhead Locator (useful for those VHF / UHF and SHF contests), your WAB Square. The number of times I have been operating /P and been asked my WAB Square only to have to fiddle about to find it, however, it is just so easy with this app.
Other things shown are: your OS Grid Reference and the latitude and longitude.
There are also links to Defras’ Magic Map which can be useful for checking a Park boundary for POTA for Example.
Rose 2E0RXO developed this and I find it so useful.
