Yaesu FTX-1F Summary
Yaesu’s FTX-1F emerges as a versatile all-mode field transceiver, catering to amateur radio enthusiasts who demand portability without compromising on functionality. Scheduled for release in early 2025, this transceiver operates across HF, 50, 144, and 430 MHz bands, supporting SSB, CW, AM, FM, and C4FM digital modes.
At its core, the FTX-1F utilizes Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology, delivering enhanced performance and flexibility. Its 4.3-inch high-resolution full-colour touch display features the innovative 3DSS (3-Dimensional Spectrum Stream), offering users an intuitive interface for monitoring and operation.
A standout feature of the FTX-1F is its dual independent receiver circuits, enabling true simultaneous dual-band operation. This allows operators to engage in SSB communication on HF bands while concurrently managing C4FM digital communication on V/UHF bands, such as HF+V, HF+U, V+V, U+U, V+U, or U+V combinations. Complementing this capability are two built-in loudspeakers that ensure clear and powerful audio output.
Powering the FTX-1F is a robust 5670mAh Lithium-ion battery pack, providing up to 9 hours of standalone operation on HF bands in SSB mode, and 8 hours on V/UHF bands in FM mode, based on a 6-6-48 duty cycle. For those requiring increased power, the transceiver can output up to 10W when connected to an external DC power supply.
Yaesu offers an optional automatic antenna tuner that attaches seamlessly to the rear of the transceiver alongside the battery pack. For FT8 enthusiasts, an optional cooling fan can be integrated with the antenna tuner, forming an all-in-one rear panel design that enhances operational efficiency.
The FTX-1F’s RF front-end and low-noise reference oscillator contribute to exceptional multi-signal receiving characteristics. Operators benefit from effective QRM rejection through Yaesu’s renowned interference reduction systems, including SHIFT, WIDTH, NOTCH, CONTOUR, APF, DNR, and NB, all managed by a high-speed 32-bit IF DSP.
Additional features enhance user experience:
Compatibility with WiRES-X operation.
PMG (Primary Memory Group) function, allowing registration and monitoring of up to five frequently used frequencies.
MAG (Memory Auto Grouping) function, enabling quick recall of memory channels categorized by band groups such as HF, VHF, UHF, AIR, and others.
USB ports supporting CAT operation, audio input/output, and TX control.
With its comprehensive feature set, the Yaesu FTX-1F stands poised to become an indispensable tool for amateur radio operators seeking a portable yet powerful transceiver.
