Good Fun at Thrybergh, and Amateur Radio Activity

Meet at Thrybergh 24th July 2024

view over lake with antenna Good Fun at Thrybergh, and Amateur Radio Activity, this morning, some nice warm weather and it could have been better had the bands not been dead. I think there was a solar flare this morning. However,  we managed to scrape 11 QSOs this morning. These were on a mixture of bands 40m and 20m, we did try 15m and 10m but nothing was doing. (from numerous of propagation reports it looked like 15m and 10 metres would be active, however, not from this location).
Many Thanks to Geoff, Dave and Paul for your help. Another successful POTA (Parks on the Air)  Activation (Just). Please click here to find out more about POTA
This morning we were trying out a Bantenna from https://www.bantenna.co.uk/ – This is a great antenna and does not need any counterpoises of ground. (so nothing to trip over!!
It would have helped if I had not forgotten the data interface and then we could have done some FT8 and WSPA, still, we had good fun at Thrybergh today, so why not come and say hello? Operating radio form a Park
